Lizzie Borden & Co.

Lizzie Borden B&B - Fall River, MA

So, if you were a spinster near the turn of the century, lived at home with the 'rents (the step mom and the really old dad), you were a cleptomaniac and even though your family could afford the modern conveniences of an indoor toilet and gas/electric lamps but your father would buy them, would you go crazy and kill them with an old hatchet?
So goes the story of Lizzie Borden, who was not found guilty because there was a lack of evidence. The museum that I visited in Fall River was not as 'scary' as I thought, although the crime scene photos were very gruesome.

This is or was, rather, the front door of the Borden home.

Ironically, there is a beautiful church nearly across the street from the home.

We stayed int he leeply little town of Westport, MA, just outside of Fall River for our training.

I was out for a run and couldn't help but notice this. So the next day, I took my camera on the jog and got a few pictures.

More lovliness in New England on a Saturday morning jog.

I can't believe how trusting they are of people by leaving the money and veggies out. That's awesome! I want to live in a town like that....
